Sr. Threat Research Engineer

The RedLegg Sr. Threat Research Engineer is focused on functioning as the technical lead in threat research for the purposes of security content development. The Sr. Threat Research Engineer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the infrastructure, process, and workflow for research content delivery. They will additionally be responsible for tracking and researching emerging attack techniques, campaigns and threat actors. This includes reporting, documentation, mentorship, expertise in escalation process improvement, training, audit, and operating as an expert and advisor in the development and evolution of RedLegg Security Services. The Sr. Threat Research Engineer is a member of the 96Bravo Team and will utilize technical expertise and polite professional etiquette while performing the following duties:

Responsibilities:

-Demonstrate leadership in the areas of Information Security and Threat Analysis

-Develop and document process for threat research and content development

-Build and maintain testing environment

-Develop content use cases based on research findings

-Lead discussions with engineering staff communicating new content

-Track newly released vulnerabilities and their corresponding exploits

-Maintain knowledge of industry-wide attacks, trends, and technologies and develop testing techniques to leverage new trends

-Provide interpretation and technical security guidance to assist MSS staff with customer remediation when applicable

-Lead conversations with customers and technical partners regarding RedLegg’s content development lifecycle

-Assist in the development, creation, and delivery of customer-facing reports with regard to 96Bravo services

-Coordinate with the 96Bravo Manager for process improvement and service evolution
 
-Assist in the development of internal training programs, activities, and initiatives
 

-Minimum 7 years Information Security experience in a Technical Role

-Minimum 5-years Threat Analysis experience

-Engineering experience

-Threat research experience

-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with staff and other teams

-Network security architecture and design

-Ability to create and present to both customer and internal parties

-Strong project planning and organizational skills

-Industry-standard awareness

-Fundamentals in scripting and automation

-InfoSec certifications related to blue team

Security Analyst I

Security Analyst I

The RedLegg Security Analyst I is a member of the RedLegg Managed Services team. The Security Analyst I is focused on client’s front-line security monitoring with RedLegg Managed Services.  The Security Analyst I will utilize technical knowledge, proprietary tools and polite professional etiquette while performing the following duties:

  • Monitor and Triage Client security alerts
  • Identify opportunities for improving client security posture
  • Investigate Security Incidents to determine cause and provide details to clients
  • Maintain knowledge of industry-wide attacks
  • Provide proactive analysis of customer intrusions, incidents, and vulnerabilities
  • Provide interpretation and technical security guidance to assist with higher tier analysis and customer escalation

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

Must have general skills/knowledge in some of the following:

  • Information security
  • Network security architecture and design
  • SIEM, Syslog and other logging applications
  • Routers and access control devices
  • TCP/IP networking
  • Firewall/IPS/ATD Foundations
  • Cybersecurity Foundations
  • SIEM Logging Foundations

Desired experience:

  • 1 or more years of information security or networking experience

Required:
